A Community Dinner & Film Experience
for Mental Health Awareness Month
For youth (10+), families, educators, and all adults who serve youth.
Tuesday, May 6, 2026 | Studio Movie Grill, Simi Valley
100% Free | Dinner Included | Hosted by All It Takes
What to Expect
An evening of good food, powerful short films, shared laughter, and honest conversation—where youth, families, educators, and youth workers come together around the topic that matters most- each other.
Youth and adults will have dedicated tracks for part of the evening, each tailored to what they need most right now. Then everyone comes back together for a shared community experience to close the night.
This is meaningful work. But it won't feel heavy. It will feel human, hopeful, and doable.
WHY join us?
Connection Is an Antidote!
Most days, it can feel like adults and young people are living in the same space—but speaking very different languages, especially when it comes to mental health.
Reel Life, Real Skills is an evening designed to bring everyone a little closer together—where youth, families, educators, and youth workers can:
-
Understand one another a bit better
-
Build shared language for talking about mental health
-
Experience how connection itself can act as an antidote to isolation, stress, and worry

Two Tracks:
YOUTH TRACK
Ages 10-17

-

-
The experience: Movement, reflection, and activities designed for real life—not another lecture.
Includes a screening of

The Intersection of Neuroscience and Behavior
-
The science: How to see escalating behavior and emotional distress through a more accurate, compassionate, neuroscience-informed lens.
-
The skills: Relational tools that help young people feel understood—such as storytelling that connects rather than "teaches," and responses that bring steadiness instead of shutdown.
-
The experience: A chance to reflect, feel seen, and leave with practical strategies you can start using right away.
Includes a screening of

Adults Will Leave With

About All It Takes
All It Takes is an experiential social-emotional learning organization that helps young people and the adults who serve them build the skills, courage, and connection needed to thrive—especially when life is challenging.
We create real-world experiences where youth, families, and educators practice empathy, resilience, and leadership in ways that feel human, hopeful, and real. Through programs like Reel Life, Real Skills, on-campus field days, educator trainings, and the A Trusted Space® film series, All It Takes turns mental health and SEL concepts into lived experiences of belonging, agency, and joy.
When communities have practical tools, shared language, and spaces to connect, they don't just get through hard times—they grow through them.
